Friday I had the transmission fluid, brake fluid, spark plugs changed, and an oil change. I normally check things out but I didn’t this time. Fast forward to today. An hour down the highway I pull into a rest area. When I start the car back up and get on the highway the check engine light turns on, and Fordpass tells me I have an emissions error. On Tuesday January 16th 2024 the crank seal blew out on my 2022 OBX with the 1.5L. The failure occurred while driving on the highway at 120kmh and at outside temps near -38°c. Last month I took my BSBL to the Maze Overlook campsite in Canyonlands National Park. It is without a doubt the roughest, most remote road I’ve ever been on. I had a heard a lot about descending the Flint Trail to get there, but it wasn’t any worse than what I experienced on the White Rim Rd the year before.

This summer I plan to do some travelling with my wife and two daughters who still live near us. When the passenger seat is occupied by an adult, this light is illuminated. When the passenger seat is not occupied, the off light is illuminated. As my first ever Ford, this logic seems odd. An amber or yellow light typically means caution or alert, something is not quite right. With either of these lights burning in the amber/yellow spectrum, it throws caution to my brain.
