Personal Story – Deer Strike & Damage
On Friday the 7th I & a friend drove north from Madison to visit Jurustic Park (spelling is correct) north of Marshfield WI. I took back roads to return to Madison which took us south through Mauston, LaValle, Reedsburg, and Plain, where I turned left on WI Cty B towards Sauk City at about 5pm. Not very far from Plain a deer came up out of the left-side ditch across the left lane and into the right lane. I had no time whatever to brake or go off-road and avoid it. The deer did not survive…

Dangerous issue with cruise control
I have about 23,000 miles on my 2025 BSBB. On 3 different occasions, while driving, with the cruise control on but NOT set, I let off the gas to slow down for a curve or to make an upcoming turn and the car keeps going because it has apparently set itself at the lower speed I have been traveling. On all three occasions I have been traveling at a higher speed on a major highway with the cruise control set. I turn off onto a side road, and while the cruise is still on I have not set it…

Automatic folding proyect

I would like to see if electric folding can be added to the mirrors.
The BS 2025 with electric folding is sold in Brazil. So it has to be possible.
I can’t find the part number for the Brazilian mirror to look it up. And I don’t know if it would just be a matter of adding the motor or if the whole mirror needs to be replaced.
I don’t think anyone has ever done this before.

Then the rain sensor project is finished.

2023 Big Bend… what fluids do I need to change?
I want to make sure I’m changing the right fluids. These are the ones I’m aware of:
- Oil – follow the Oil Life Indicator
- Brake – every 3 years
- Coolant – Every 5 years (couldn’t find anything but that’s what my last 2 cars were)
- Transmission – every 30k miles?
- RDU – ???
- PTU – ???
Anything else I’m missing? Any recommended intervals on the PTU and RDU?
This is my first AWD car so I’m not familiar with some of these acronyms.

RDU repair leads to 4WD Fault message
My 2021 Outer Banks was shuttering when turning at slow speeds. I took it to the dealer for repair and they determined the RDU needed to be replaced in addition to the PTU. After the repair alerts were showing up on the screen so they recommended the AWD control was needed. The AWD control is not covered under the powertrain warranty so had to pay for that repair. After the new control was put in the dashboard messages continued. They then said the RDU actuator motor had an internal…

What other car/transportation projects are you working on?
For me, its my 67 Camaro. Currently replacing its carb and intake manifold with correct date coded carb and manifold. It took me a few years to locate all the correct and date coded OEM stuff, but I finally have them, and getting ready to install.
On the RV, sprucing up the interior with wood flooring, fresh tile in the bathroom, and some woodwork in the cabinet area.

FordPass App Shuts Down
This as been a issue with this vehicle since owning it. When the weather changes to a colder climate, I will get a message on my app that the auto start feature is disable for battery conservation. The weather here isn’t that bad yet. I’ve installed an AGM battery with year, so I can see that being the issue. Anyone have the same issue and better yet, any solutions? BTW the k,ey fob does start the vehicle.
